Foot & Ankle Group has been serving Olympia Fields, Illinois, and the Chicagoland area for over 20 years. Podiatrist Stephanie Spicer, DPM, leads the team and provides comprehensive foot and ankle medicine, and surgery when necessary. The goal of Foot & Ankle Group is to support a healthy and active lifestyle by fully evaluating each patient and creating treatment options customized to meet their individual needs.
Foot & Ankle Group was founded by Dr. Spicer in order to meet the needs of an increasing patient population, as well as offering more expansive services, including treatment for bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, nail problems, plantar fasciitis, and diabetic foot pain. The aim is to create a comfortable environment that offers comprehensive service to patients, as well as provide adjunct medical services. Their mission is to get to know their patients and the demands they endure daily. This allows a customized approach by taking lifestyle, responsibilities, and medical history into consideration.

Dr. Darla Thomas
Diabetic Foot Care Specialist
Originally from California, Dr. Thomas is a graduate of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She has a keen interest in diabetic foot care, musculoskeletal disorders of the foot and leg, as well as working with underserved communities to help foster good foot health and hygiene.
Dr. Thomas is an affiliate of the Advocate Health Organization, and is on staff at both Trimity and South Suburban Hospitals.

Nail fungus is a common condition that causes changes in nail appearance, texture and color. It is caused when fungus infiltrates the nail bed and causes the nail to grow irregularly.
Foot drop is caused by an underlying anatomical, neurological, or muscular condition in which there is an inability to lift the front part of the foot.
While this shoe type is convenient, it certainly has its dangers. Because flip flops are held to your foot via a thong between the toes, they are not designed for exertion.
